Hubner USA is a major supplier of jet gangway canopies to the airline industry. What are jet gangway canopies? They are special flexible covers that are designed to protect passengers from the exterior environment when boarding or exiting an airplane.
Our canopy is designed as a folding bellow with a bumper seal. One side of the canopy attaches to the jet gangway while the other side extends to cover the door of the airplane.
The canopy’s bumper is attached to the retractable side of the folding bellow. Besides protecting the airplane from sudden movements of the jet gangway, the bumper functions as a gasket to seal off the passenger interior from the exterior environment.
Our bumper is made of a soft foam material that is designed to provide a nearly perfect seal around the doorframe of the airplane. The seal created by our canopy is independent of the type of plane it covers (e.g. Embraer ERJ 145, Boeing 747, etc.,).

As we continuously improve our design, we have recently implemented new features such as an enhanced kinematic system for extending and retracting our canopies. This system was originally developed in Germany and it has a very successful track record in many different applications throughout the world.
Hubner USA works closely with its customers to implement customized solutions for canopies demanding special material and functionality. Our standard material meets the NFPA 415 requirements for flammability and smoke emissions as well as the NFPA 701 requirements for water resistance. Our canopies are easy to install and are nearly maintenance free. They can be mounted to a frame that is attached directly to the jet gangway with 6 or 8 inch bolts. Since the canopy is already pre-adjusted, only the electrical connection for the tube motor is necessary.
